Former Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) Considering Bid For President

NEWS FLASH

Former Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) Considering Bid For President | Former Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) is contemplating a bid for the White House. During his six terms in office, Goode distinguished himself with openly bigoted rhetoric towards gays, immigrants, Muslims, and other minority groups. Before he was defeated by Tom Perriello (D-VA) in 2008, Goode was embroiled in a controversy over a letter referencing his colleague Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim American member of Congress. Goode warned that ?American citizens? need to ?wake up? and enact ?strict immigration policies? or ?there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office.? Last month, executive members of the Constitution Party passed a resolution urging Goode to seek the nomination. Reached by the Roanoke Times yesterday, Goode confirmed that he ?will consider? running for the White House on the Constitution Party ticket.
